Abstract:
The digitization of the surgery microscope is an important part of the digitization of the surgery room. By digitizing the operating microscope there are many advantages such as the amplification of individual color channels, the addition of augmented reality and the documentation of the surgical process. The digitalization is realized by two or more cameras that record the operating scenario. After recording, a 3-D image is reconstructed from both images. To secure the proper reconstruction, the positions of the cameras in relation to each other and the extrinsic camera parameters of both cameras must be known. From the extrinsic camera parameters and the positions the depth information of the image can be calculated. As the measurement of the positions is too inaccurate, the cameras have to be calibrated. In my work a camera setup with 4 single cameras behind a main lens is used. Because the common methods of camera calibration with a main lens do not work, the following hypo- thesis was made in my work. It is possible to calibrate 4 single cameras behind a main lens by calibrating the single color channels. Furthermore it is possible to correct the distortion errors in an image by correcting the individual color channels and to reassemble the picture afterwards. To test the hypotheses two algorithms were reimplemented. The affine and the adaptive algorithm, both based on the Zhang algorithm. Both algorithms were compared for the accuracy of the minimum deviation of camera positions in z-direction. Furthermore, the distortion correction was implemented. The implementation was done in a C++ program. The work has shown that it is possible to calibrate 4 cameras behind a main lens by calibrating the individual color channels. The adaptive algorithm is the more accurate one. The functioning of the correction of the individual color channels was not confirmed.
